How to Avoid Breaking of Hammer Piston

Hydraulic breaker is an important working tool of hydraulic excavator, which plays the role of impact, hammering and crushing. It is widely used in mining, metallurgy, transportation, railway, tunnel and other industries. The power source of the hydraulic breaker is the pressured oil provided by the pump station of the excavator or loader. In use, due to factors such as environment, operation, components, etc., various failures will occur, such as poor impact continuity, reduced impact force, insufficient impact frequency, abnormal tubing vibration, hydraulic breaker oil leakage, etc., which will decline the performance and efficiency of the hydraulic breaker, and increase the safety hazards of the crushing operation.

In daily use, the internal parts of the hammer may be damaged to varying degrees, including damage or breakage of the piston. Most users do not know what caused this. Quality problems may be one of the reasons, so what other reasons are there? Below, the breaker manufacturer will introduce several common failure phenomena and solutions to you .

1. Piston deformation

Deformation of the piston will wear the cylinder liner and oil seal, causing oil seepage. In addition, the chisel will be weakened. Excessive wear of the cylinder liner may directly cause the breaker to be scrapped. In daily production work, the operator needs to grease the breaker every two hours to ensure the lubrication between the piston and the chisel, so that the piston is not easily deformed.

2. Oil seep from the breaker

While working, the hammer should stop for a few seconds every twenty seconds or so to avoid high temperature and cause accessories aging and oil leakage.

3. The piston is congested and damages the hydraulic parts

The breaker has no waterproof design, so never work in water. When operating in water, mud and sand can easily enter the cylinder liner and piston, causing the piston to jam and damage the hydraulic parts.

4. The piston is broken and the cylinder liner is damaged

During operation, if the striking sound of the breaker is found to be different from usual, stop working immediately. Otherwise, it may cause the piston to break, produce a sharp edge, and wear the cylinder liner.

Avoiding the breakage of the hammer piston requires careful observation during our daily operations, as well as our correct maintenance and operation, so as to minimize the probability of breaking the hammer piston.
